Reflection Paper in Values Education & Physical Education STEM II ( Group 3)

VALUES EDUCATION

"JAYVEE LITERATUS"

Values Education is important everywhere. We, the STEM students we are not just studying hard in Science, Technology Engineering, Mathematics but need more attention to study to be able to clarify in our values. So they can put idea's into perspective.
No doubt that this is one of most important subject. This is one of the reason why values education is being taught in included in both elementary, secondary and Senior High school and even college I guess. It is because it plays a great role for students becoming a successful in their own choice of careers.

Value education is the process by which people give moral values to others.[1] It can be an activity that can take place in any organisation during which people are assisted by others, who may be older, in a position of authority or are more experienced, to make explicit those values underlying their own behaviour, to assess the effectiveness of these values and associated behaviour for their own and others' long term well-being and to reflect on and acquire other values and behaviour which they recognise as being more effective for long term well-being of self and others. There is difference between literacy and education. Values education can take place at home and as well as in schools, colleges, universities, jails and voluntary youth organisations. There are two main approaches to values education, some see it as inculcating or transmitting a set of values which often come from societal or religious rules or cultural ethics while others see it as a type of Socratic dialogue[2] where people are gradually brought to their own realisation of what is good behaviours for themselves and their community.

Everyone ought to be profoundly concerned with the "development" of the leaner and consequently the development of society. The ultimate standard value for such development is to attain a more adequate level of value and moral awareness, sensitivity, reasoning, and action.
The why, what, and how of the value education emphasis are being seriously confronted in a more dedicate and systematic manner. This is perhaps symptomatic of something much deeper in our personal and social fabric. Dissonance, conflict, tensions are inevitable ingredients in our development toward self-actualization as we struggle with the sticky matter of life.
The challenges are many, the roads are arduous, and the journey is lengthy but who cannot say immensely worthwhile and Value-able.

And Lester teach on how to discipline our self and to respect our parents to serve the god almighty and he teach us on how to aware some thing that can affect of us and to obey the rule.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION

"JOSHUA APAL"

In this PE class, I have learned so many things about Volleyball and Badminton. The skills that will increase my abilities to play in these two kinds of sports. These two sports are completely different. One, I know how to be on my own when I wasn't have any partners or teams. Another thing, I learn how to work as a team and to be trust in my teammate. In each class of PE, I have learned new skills so that I could use when I played as a team or alone.

Maam pairat and Maam Claudine teach us on how to use the things of the sports and my classmates maam pairat teach us on how to shoot the ball of the basketball and volleyball moves like spike, serve and etc.

In Singapore, pupils from primary school through junior colleges are required to have 2 hours of PE every week, except during examination seasons. Pupils are able to play games like football, badminton, captain ball, and basketball during most sessions. Unorthodox sports such as , fencing, and skateboarding are occasionally played. In more prestigious secondary schools and in junior colleges, sports such as golf, tennis, shooting, and squash are played. A compulsory fitness exam, NAPFA, is conducted in every school once every year to assess the physical fitness of the pupils.[citation needed] Pupils are given a series of fitness tests (Pull-ups/Inclined pull-ups for girls, standing broad jump, sit-ups, sit-and-reach and 1.6 km for primary [10- to 12-year-olds]/2.4 km for secondary and junior college levels [13- to 18-year-olds]). Students are graded by gold, silver, bronze or as fail. NAPFA for pre-enlistees serves as an indicator for an additional 2 months in the country's compulsory national service if they attain bronze or fail.

In Malaysia, pupils from primary schools to secondary schools are expected to do 2 periods or 1 hour of PE throughout the year except a week before examination. In most secondary schools, games like badminton, sepak takraw, football, netball, basketball and tennis are available. Pupils are allowed to bring their own sports equipment to the school with the authorization of the teacher.

In the Philippines, PE is mandatory for all years. Unless, the school gives the option for a student to do the Leaving Certificate Vocational Programme instead for fifth and sixth year. In the Philippines, some schools have integrated martial arts training into their physical education curriculum.[3][4][5][6][7]

We take Physical Education subject every Wednesday only and led by our expert teacher Ms. Pairat. Being STEM students we are not just focusing only in more technology but we need also encountered physical activity like exercise, sports and dancing too.
Students are need more empowered to participate in physical activity and understand how this influences their own well-being and that of others. Physical Education engages  and energises students and this challenge ourselves to develop each of us physical and interpersonal skills.
